Springville is conveniently located just off the Highway 151 corridor 8 miles northeast of Marion which makes travel for work or leisure fast and convenient. We're 10 minutes from major shopping areas in Marion and Cedar Rapids and 35 minutes from The Eastern Iowa Airport.

The nearest large city near Springville is Cedar Rapids, Iowa, while Minneapolis, Chicago, and St. Louis can all be reached in a few hours drive.

Springville is at an average elevation of 950 feet and has a land area of 0.74 square miles.


As of the census of 2010, there were 1,074 people, 442 households, and 313 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,491.7 inhabitants per square mile (575.9/km2). There were 462 housing units at an average density of 641.7 per square mile.

There were 442 households of which 30.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.3% were married couples living together, 8.8% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 29.2% were non-families. 23.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 2.86.

The median age in the city was 39.3 years. 22% of residents were under the age of 18; 7.9% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 28.3% were from 25 to 44; 27% were from 45 to 64; and 14.9% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 48.9% male and 51.1% female.

It is estimated that 14 residents are foreign born (1.3% of the population compared to the Iowa average of 3.1%).
