Normal city council meetings are the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 6:00 pm.

LIBRARY HOURS

Due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the Springville area, the library has closed its doors to the public.

The new hours will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 12:00-4:00 p.m. Curbside check-out is encouraged. Call 854-6444 or email the library at sprlibry@netins.net.

Computer use will be by appointment only, with a limit of four patrons at a time.

The Buresh Room is not available for rent at this time.

Keep checking with the library about future availability.

WINTER FESTIVAL

Due to Covid the 2020 Winter Festival will be scaled down.

Date: Saturday, December 5th
Soup Supper - 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Parade Line Up at High School - 6 p.m.
Light Parade - 6:30 p.m. - normal parade route
Christmas Tree Lighting in Butler Park - 7 p.m.
Santa at Gazebo - until 8:30 p.m. - cookies & hot cocoa available

The SEDC will be giving away a $50 Sallys Gift card again this year for the Christmas Light Decorating contest on December 12th.

PUBLIC HEARING - 605 7th Ave Variance Request

You are hereby notified that a public hearing will be held at the Springville City Hall located at 304 Broadway, Springville, Iowa 52336 before the Springville Board of Adjustments on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. regarding the variance request from Dennis & Sheila Diekman for property locally known as 605 7th Ave, Springville, Iowa 52336. They are requesting a variance to allow an oversized shed to be located on the property. This meeting is open to the public, but due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Board of Adjustment will be holding this meeting electronically via a conference call. If you would like to participate in the meeting, please call (425) 436-6369 and enter this access code: 331423. Only City Officials will be allowed in City Hall.
All interested persons may review the request, including a map showing the location of the property, and file their comments in writing with the City Clerk at or before the hearing and/or may appear in person at the hearing.

RECYCLING RATE INCREASE

Wapsi Waste Management has been hauling solid waste for the City of Springville since 2018.

Due to increased recycling costs, it is necessary to raise the cost of hauling $3.50 per month.

This increase will be reflected on the December 2020 utility bill.

REPLANTING TREES

NOTICE:

The City has asked that no-one replant any trees in the City Right of Way until further notice.

Any trees planted in the City Right of Way will be removed at the cost of the property owner.
