GIVING TREE

Donate to the Giving Tree
Help us stock the pantry shelves her in Springville by putting items under the Giving Tree. (December 3rd-20th)
Sponsored by Springville Elementary Student Council
The Giving Tree is a tradition at Springville Elementary where non-perishable items are brought in and placed under a tree at the elementary during the month of December. Items are then taken to the local food pantry in Springville to help our families locally.
Items that are needed at this time are:
toilet paper, paper plates & napkins, disposable cups & silverware, cereals, tuna & tuna helper, pasta, soups-box or canned
They DO NOT need any fruit or vegetables at this time.
Please send items in by December 20th!

ORIOLE PRIDE WEEK IN JANUARY

Future Cities Call for Supplies
The middle schoolers are in need of the following materials for the quickly approaching Oriole Pride Week in January:
paper towel rolls, yogurt containers, cleaned soda bottles, wrapping paper rolls, toilet paper rolls, oatmeal containers, cleaned milk containers, cardboard boxes, construction paper, wire, pipe cleaners, Legos, glue, fabric, hot glue guns and glue, popsicle sticks, packing tape, other clean recycled materials.
The middle school students and teachers would greatly appreciate your donation. donations can be delivered to Mr. Eastburn (room 205).

SPRINGVILLE NIGHT WITH THE ROUGH RIDERS

Saturday December 29th 2018
Springville volleyball, basketball, cross country & track state qualifiers and archery teams from last year will be recognized for all their accomplishments.
The Springville Choir will be singing the National Anthem. Studio Dee and the High School Dance team will be performing
This is a Post Prom fundraiser, but all kids being honored get in free!
Ticket prices are $14.75, $16.75, & $18.75. depending on what section you choose. Credit cards, checks or cash are accepted. Online tickets are not available.
Ticket forms can be picked up at the Elementary, High School or Central Office or click on the link below.
Email completed forms to Jason Shaner or get the forms to Jaime Zaruba, Melissa Williams or Barb Hennings.
You will pick up your tickets at the Will Call the night of the game.

Planning and Zoning Vacancy

We are looking for someone to fill a vacancy on the Planning & Zoning Commission.
The P&Z Commission consists of 5 members appointed by the Council. The Commission members shall be residents of the City and shall not hold any elective office in the City government.
This is a volunteer position for a 5 year term.

PARKING/TRAFFIC CHANGES

5th STREET PARKING:
There is NO PARKING on the west side of 5th Street from Academy Street (school) to the north of the bridge. Parking is allowed on the east side of above mentioned area. This is to keep the kids from crossing into traffic while getting picked up from school.
ACADEMY STREET:
Academy Street is now a one-way street going from Mill Ave to 5th Street. There is NO PARKING on the north side of Academy Street. This is for bus traffic only. There is now angle parking on the south side of Academy Street. The center lane is for through traffic only.
Please be aware of the new changes and help us to get the word out.

Reminder: Due to the Christmas and New Year Holidays being on Tuesday this year, garbage pick up will be on:

Wednesday 01/02/2019
Reminder: Please do not place items out that cannot be recycled (ie: oil, store plastic bags, electronics). Wapsi Waste will not pick up any items that they cannot accept.

YARD WASTE

We have been receiving reports that the the Yard Waste Site usage is being violated.
Residents pay for the Yard Waste Site service on their water bills.
If you are a resident that is having work done and someone else will be using this site on your behalf, please contact City Hall at 319 854-6428 with this information.
Non-Residents need to haul their yard waste to the Landfill.
